Top 10 takeaways from 14 billionaires
Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 09:01AM Secrets Of The Self-Made, an intriguing series of brief interviews I found on Forbes.com, features 14 of the richest men in the world candidly and humorously revealing their best answers to 20 simple questions.
I find the following consistencies in their responses to be most interesting:
- Most eat a healthy breakfast which tends to include oatmeal
- Most exercise regularly
- Most read approximately 2 hours per day
- Most believe that execution is the key to success. This is very consistent with my own thinking. How many people with great ideas have you encountered in your life? Now, how many of those people actually implemented those ideas and are now wildly successful? My guess is that your answer is probably very few. It's all about execution.
- Values are important
- Many references to the importance of leaving a legacy behind
- Most deemphasize the importance of money
- Just a few recommend getting an MBA
- People are important
- Hard work is clearly necessary
